Gleaming gem in a Cornish cove

Penpol is in the famous fishing village of Mevagissey. The view is a widescreen vista of the ever changing sea, bobbing boats and blue horizons. Inside it's a cosy haven, with the Aga, rolltop baths and woodburner.

Raise your glasses and expectations

Raise your glasses and your expectations as you sit atop the quaint fishing village of Mevagissey. Penpol’s sun terrace is a widescreen extravagance of bobbing boats and aquamarine seas. Relax and savour the peace.

Back through the French doors,  the house is a perfect coastal haven. The main house and cottage sleep ten in cosy and charming comfort with the Aga, rolltop baths, en-suite bathrooms and woodburner.

Outside, there’s room to escape. Follow the path from the sun terrace down to the secret chapel garden. Pop down to the harbour, full of bobbing fishing boats and friendly pubs.

But the sun terrace is the focus of life here. Unwind with a sundowner as you fire up the barbie and toast the Riviera views. Penpol is the cream of Cornwall.

Gardens and Grounds

Step out on to the terrace garden and enjoy the scents of the potted herbs. Help yourselves to our herbs to spice up your dinner.

The garden at Penpol has stunning views over the harbour, perfect for al fresco dining and soaking up the sun in the summer months.

Enjoy the peace of the secret chapel garden, blissfully quiet. The chapel garden is a great photo location for guests booking Polpier and Penpol for a wedding.

Autumn and Winter in Mevagissey

Mevagissey is still just as charming in winter. Boats bob in the harbour and the cottages are beacons of colour along the quiet, winding streets. The fish and chips are still to die for and the pubs and restaurants glow with a warm welcome.

Wrap up for a walk on a beautiful, deserted beach. Enjoy tennis, golf, shooting and sailing on crisp, clear days. Make the most of Cornwall’s many attractions, including the Eden Project and St Ives Tate, when the maddening crowds are far away.

Christmas at Penpol

Change the scene this Christmas to bobbing boats and twinkling harbour lights. Come together as a family, with wood on the fire, lights on the tree and festive films on the TV. The wind might howl outside, the waves might lash at the town’s defences, but Penpol is a cosy Cornish haven of warmth and winter wonder.

After popping open the champagne, feasting on turkey and pud and unwrapping the presents, stroll along Mevagissey’s twisty street and the harbour wall to admire the stunning sea view before returning to enjoy Christmas cake in front of the fire.
