Pets, pots and pampering

Kids can pet the pets at Ferring Country Centre, paint the pots at Art-ful, or take a ringo ride across the waves. For grown-ups, blustery walks on the pebbled beach or spa pampering are just a potter away. Splashpoint’s the place for a gym and swim, while just down the road are the cocktails and clubs of boho Brighton.

Kids Ahoy!

There are bikes in the garage, pool in the lounge and footballs galore. Hours can vanish with a beachball in the heated pool, and the beach is just yards away. If all that’s not enough, Worthing and district offers some worthy alternatives.

Try Ferring Country Centre for the kids’ zoo, home to miniature Shetland ponies, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, alpacas, and more. Ride the slides, trampolines and teacups at Worthing Lido or the funfair at Littlehampton. Paint the pots and mould the clay at Art-ful.

Budding Lewis Hamiltons should head to Brooklands Mini-Moto Circuit, while anyone brave enough to go very fast on the water in a rubber ring should try ringo rides with Sussex watersports.

Elsewhere, there’s mini-golf, adventure golf, pitch and putt, nature reserves, lidos and laser zones. Nearby Brighton’s the place to check out life below the waves at the Sea Life Centre or to take the Volks Electric Railway along the beach, with stops at the aquarium and kids’ playground.

For the Grown Ups

Just beyond the garden wall, take blustery walks on the pebbled beach, swim in summer and windsurf in a renowned national centre. Fish the sea and hire a boat from Littlehampton or Shoreham. Ride the country lanes from equestrian centres in Ferring, walk the coastal path, take a picnic to the South Downs.

Spa pampering is just a potter away, just 200 metres down the road in South Ferring Village. Enjoy the ultimate leisure experience at Splashpoint in Worthing, with three indoor pools, gym, health suite and sun terrace.

Explore Worthing’s art-deco pier and walk the palm-lined promenade. See the ceiling of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel recreated at the English Martyrs Catholic Church. Vulture up the culture at the Connaught Theatre.

Down the road, Brighton is Worthing’s racier sister. This is London-by-the-Sea, with pubs, clubs, bars, live bands and restaurants at every turn. Sip cocktails at Brighton Rocks or take to the stage at Lucky Voice Karaoke.
