Explore ancient Berkeley Castle and the  Butterfly House – then take a walk through the deer park and look down on Pedington from above.

For a treetop adventure head to Go Ape, Forest of Dean or head off for some snowboarding or tubing at Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre.

Run around and see wild birds from all over the world at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Slimbridge, including the famous pink flamingos.

Just down the road is the Cattle Country Adventure Park. There’s a soft play area, splash pool, a boating lake and American bison. Go wild!  And St Augustine’s Farm Park has everything you need for a fun day out in the countryside. With over 50 organic acres to explore this family farm for over 200 years is now a fun place for children.

A short drive away you’ll find Bristol Zoo, and with over 400 species and nine animal houses under cover, it’s a great day out in Bristol whatever the weather.
