If you’re looking to unwind on an idyllic escape to the country, the Lincolnshire Wolds is one of the best places to be. Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, its 560 square kilometres are the highest area of land in eastern England. Steep hills and sweeping open valleys have been left behind by glaciers from over 15,000 years ago, providing captivating surroundings for walking, running or cycling.
If you want to explore somewhere truly one-of-a-kind, take a trip to the Lincolnshire Fens. Also known as the Fenlands, the stunning landscapes stretch over a large flat area of eastern England, which was traditionally make up of marshes and swamps. Want to see the Magna Carta? Don’t worry. It’s just around the corner at Lincoln Castle. Originally built in the 11th century, it’s one of the country’s best-preserved castles, with stunning views of the surrounding city, cathedral and countryside.
