Inside its own timber-framed building is one of Tregulland’s most fabulous features – the swimming pool. It is spacious at 12 x 5 metres, plus there there is an additional children’s pool.
There are only a handful of indoor freshwater pools in the whole world, and this is one of them! Freshwater swimming means pure spring water with no chemicals, maintained at the perfect temperature and rigorously controlled and purified. It’s like wild swimming but without the cold.
The setting is extremely atmospheric. The walls are lined with slate and the room is backlit at night which means evening swimming is very special. Or on a sunny afternoon, throw open the doors while you swim.
On the terrace outside the pool is the wood-fired hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a dip in the pool or star-gazing at night.
Tregulland Cottage and Barn has been specially created for big celebrations and holidays. It is created from two adjacent buildings – The Barn and The Cottage – which sit in 16 acres of grounds. Both have beautiful interiors and all the furniture is vintage and retro, sourced at auction, fairs and from private collectors, restored lovingly to create a quirky and homely environment. The Barn has a more modernist feel while the Cottage has some great heritage touches.
Tregulland has two large entertaining and relaxing rooms: the Sun Room in the Cottage, and The Granary in the Barn – with an amazing wood burning stove (there are four stoves in total throughout Tregulland). There’s a cinema-quality HD projection screen for evening movies. And wonderful views throughout.
And to provide for everything, Tregulland has utility rooms with separate shower facilities and washer/driers; a Snug and a Map Room for quiet time, board games or having a glass of wine; and a surf room for storing boards and drying off wetsuits.
Love to cook? There are two state-of-the-art kitchens with induction hobs, dishwashers, a drawer-fridge and even a wine-fridge. The Cottage has a celebration dining room seating 24 and the large, stylish kitchen-diner in the Barn also seats 24.
