The finest view in Devon?

Big spaces, ultra-stylish, wonderful views over the River Dart. Treehouse. Outdoor deck. Step onto the spacious balcony and relax.

A room with an elephant-sized view

At The Penthouse in Dartmouth there’s no escaping the elephant in the room – and that’s the room with the elephant-sized view.

With space for six to holiday in luxury you’ll love cooking up a storm in the luxury kitchen, wining and dining with friends and family. You’ll be delighted by the tranquil bedrooms and the big bathroom with its driftwood accessories. And you’ll enjoy popping a cork in the summer sunshine on the BBQ deck.

Fling wide the bi-fold doors. Sit and swivel on the kitchen stools, or laze back on the bean bags on the balcony or the languorous leather recliners.

Wherever you are, you can absorb the view. Beyond the towering pines is where heaven meets Devon. Lie in and think of England. Book for Dartmouth Regatta week and watch the Red Arrows and the fireworks from the deck or balcony. It doesn’t get much better.

Cooking and Dining

The kitchen has all the latest appliances and gadgets and we think you will enjoy using the instant hot water tap, induction hob, Nespresso machine and wine fridge. Eat in the River View Room or out on the deck.

There is fantastic dining on offer nearby – Dartmouth and Totnes are brimming over with gourmet restaurants, inns and cafes from the Michelin-starred Angel in Dartmouth to Riverside Organic’s field kitchen.

Looking for a special meal without any fuss? Our highly rated chefs will prepare a celebratory meal to order, all cooked and cleared out of the way. Once the plates are cleared, they’ll leave you to enjoy the rest of the evening.

For special occasions, we can arrange all kinds of catering – from a simple buffet, to a summer BBQ or a fully catered holiday. Just let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll sort it out.

Bedrooms

The River View Room is decorated with neutral tones and driftwood accessories make this kingsize room a tranquil and relaxing haven. With views of the Royal Naval College and the River Dart, lie ins are a must in this room. Wake yourself up with a powerful shower in the perfectly styled ensuite bathroom.

College View Room is spacious, light and airy, this bedroom is just so peaceful. With its subtle blue interiors and interesting shaped window, you really can lie in your kingsize bed and watch the world go by. The bathroom is just as calming with a shower like a waterfall and ambient lighting.

In the Regatta Room the navy and white go so well together and combine to make this twin bedded room a fun place to stay. Relax in the beanbags, play some games or switch on the wall mounted TV – this really is a great den. There’s a big bathroom too, for everyone to share.

Children Welcome

The list of facilities provided for children is vast, and we have lots of ‘child friendly’ ideas which will hopefully appeal to our younger guests and parents alike!

Tea in Teddy’s Tree House – the first thing your children will spy is the fantastic tree house built in one of our enormous cedar trees. Although the main garden is for our private use, we know the tree house is just too tempting to miss. We will therefore arrange a convenient time for your children to have a memorable tea in the tree house.

Dressing up boxes – dig deep to find some wonderful outfits, whether you are into super heroes or princesses, there’s something for everybody.

Barrington Bunny – come and meet Smudge the rabbit, very friendly and very fluffy and loves it when you feed him all those greens you don’t like!

Babysitting – we can recommend some reliable, experienced and friendly babysitters and also have an extensive collection of children’s books and Dvd’s to help entertain your children.
