Where even the Queen is in party mood

Party beneath the watchful gaze of Her Majesty. Don’t worry – she approves. The décor is regal, the period atmosphere is cheeky and cheesy. Pop a cork in the courtyard, feel special with spa treatments, explore the charms of Cheltenham.

Make the antiques spring to life

A giant portrait of a smiling Queen Elizabeth in younger days sets the tone for the cheekiest and cheesiest of parties. There’s a regal style about the Montpellier Town House, too. Something about its Regency charm makes you want to pick up your feet and dance the cotillion in Cheltenham.

The Regency house party goes modern at Montpellier. Escape with friends or family to an oasis of refurbished indulgence. Bathrooms are like ballrooms. The antiques in the double reception room are ready to rattle when your party rolls.

Revel in the four-storey boutique chic. On the inside, it pops with quirky detail and exudes extravagant period charm. Opulent bedrooms come with swags and silk, big beds and bigger views. On the outside sits Cheltenham, no less extravagant and just a jaunty stroll away.

Pop a cork in the courtyard garden. Summon our chef. Get everyone round the huge dining table. Bond over spa treatments or reiki, taste some chocolate, sip some fine wine. If you can’t be indulgent here, where can you?

Living Spaces

The William IV Drawing Room is split into two eclectic and quirky rooms, with interesting objects decorating the fire mantle and tables.

The front Drawing Room has a gentleman’s library feel. There’s a leather chesterfield beautifully aged with use, two comfy leather armchairs, and a butler’s table with glass decanters and interesting artefacts. The art and antiques throughout the house will delight you throughout your stay.

The back Drawing Room has comfy sofas and upholstered armchairs surround, making for a perfect area for getting together. The Grand Master painting is quite a talking point,  with the 42 inch flat screen TV discreetly concealed behind dark blue panelling.

Outside there is a quintessential English courtyard garden paved with Forest of Dean flagstones. Filled with planted herbs, it’s a peaceful spot to sit and enjoy a quiet break for the bustle of your house party. From the front door it’s a short stroll to the manicured lawns and flower beds of Montpellier Gardens.

Cooking and Dining

A club like baronial atmosphere awaits you and your guests in the Dining Room at The Montpellier Town House. The large Victorian antique circular table seats ten people comfortably making it ideal for a house party for extended family or a stay with close friends. It can be extended to seat up to sixteen for large groups.

The Dining Room leads through to a state of the art kitchen that will delight even the most demanding chef. Paved in Cotswold stone, there is a separate preparation area, which adds to the kitchen’s superb facilities and the feeling of space.

Separated from the main kitchen is the chef’s kitchen, the perfect space for food prep as well as extra storage space for the chef who needs everything. Fitted “kettle tap” delivering instant, filtered boiling water – ideal for that quick cup of tea!

Bedrooms

The Town House has five extravagant bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. The sumptuous four poster Master Suite has wonderful views.  There are three good sized bedrooms with zip and link beds, which can be set up as doubles or twins, and one further single room on the top floor.

The Beau Nash Master Suite offers a full on Regency experience with its original window shutters, high ceilings and ornate cornicing. The doors leading to the balcony have pelmets and curtains made of fine Irish silk that pool elegantly on the floor. There’s a spacious seating area and the views from the generous windows sweep across Montpellier Gardens, raising up in the background the Cotswold Escarpment.

A two bedroom apartment sleeping four to six is also available, with the Town House acting as the base for a larger house party. It’s a short stroll away in Cheltenham’s Royal Parade.
