Upper Deck, Lower Deck, Lookout Lounge, lifebuoy lamps and sailcloth beanbags – is The Boat House a house or a boat? Who cares? Unwind on the upper sun terrace and garden patio or watch the sun loom large from the enormous living room.
The Boat House at Dartmouth is nautically themed throughout. The kitchen comes with seagull wallpaper, there’s a dreamy driftwood bed and accessories in The Retreat; in The Den there are oars on the wall and beach huts on the blinds.
When the sun shows, pull back the awning and peel back the layers of life. Close one eye and squint through the telescope. Could that be fun on the horizon?
The Lookout Lounge certainly has the wow factor! With so much seating and such great views you’ll be lost for choice as to where to sit and lost for words to say about the scenery. Full of funky cushions, stylish furniture, nautical accessories and of course a huge flat screen TV – this room has it all.
Open the patio doors from the lounge and step onto this spacious and impressive outside lounge. Yet more seating and lounging options for you along with a fantastic view of the River Dart and out to sea.
Pale blue kitchen units, seagull wallpaper, Charles Eames dining chairs and Cath Kidson accessories combine to make this a dream kitchen. Add in the Falcon five ring gas range, twin butler sinks, waste disposal, integrated dishwasher and fridge, you have all the latest equipment to go along with it.
The Lower Deck is a lovely cobbled and paved area with a Mediterranean feel and perfect for alfresco dining with a covered area and Gas BBQ, and can be handily accessed via the kitchen.
There is fantastic dining on offer nearby – Dartmouth and Totnes are brimming over with gourmet restaurants, inns and cafes from the Michelin-starred Angel in Dartmouth to Riverside Organic’s field kitchen.

Red, white and blue combine to make the Den twin room a fun place to sleep and play. Oars on the wall, beach huts on the blinds, life buoy lamps and a huge sailcloth beanbag – there’s no escaping that you are staying beside the sea.
