Shipton Cottage is a vista of English bliss in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. But despite the peonies and poppies, four-posters and fossil floors, there’s no English reserve here. Shipton is happy and homely, waiting for you to take tea on the terrace, chat around the woodburner or get seriously serene in the spa and pool.
A vista of English bliss
Shipton Cottage in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds is as English as cricket on the village green. But beneath the English reserve of fossil-stone floors and four-posters, Colefax and Fowler upholstery, and peonies and poppies, beats a homely heart.
That warmth finds its focus in the Shaker kitchen. Rustle up a repast yourself or summon our chef and chillax with something chilled while we thrill you with three courses and a strange willingness to wash up afterwards. Later, gather round the woodburner and let the chat and laughter spark and crackle.
In between the drinking and dining, there’s pampering and prettifying. Submerge yourself in the shared heated pool, try a treatment or two, or work out with the weights in the fitness room.
Follow the French doors to the apple orchard. Take tea or a tipple on the terrace. Kids will continue to the shared outdoor play area, indoor games room, tennis court, playhouses, and pedal cars and bikes.
