Perhaps you’ve always wanted to stay somewhere with a snug. That box is not only ticked at Oxleaze House, but it comes with cosy Cotswold stone walls and fireplace with roaring woodburner. Break out the books or gather the family round for cards or charades.
Beyond the snug, it only gets better. Entertaining just got exciting with the Abitalia kitchen, Gaggenau appliances and Teppanyaki plate. Self-cater or be fully-catered: show off your skills or put up your feet. Beneath the beams of the dining room, ten can eat before the glow and crackle of the wood fire.
Oxleaze House is a spectacular Grade II listed restoration that begs for five-star reunions, parties and grand occasions. Charming, bucolic and horsey, it was chosen as the base for the 2012 US Olympic equestrian team. They didn’t win any medals, but you’ll feel like you’ve struck Cotswold gold.
Oxleaze House stands high on a rolling Cotswold hillside, with glorious views of the countryside. There’s a modern terrace opening off the breakfast area where you can relax in style while taking in the view.
The classic farmhouse elevation at the rear of the house opens onto lovely gardens and there are meadows beyond for you to explore.
You can even break out the croquet set for a spot of classic English afternoon fun.
All in all there are eight acres of grounds for you to explore and make your own during your stay in the Cotswolds.
The living spaces at Oxleaze House are remarkable, with surprises unfolding at every turn.
The modern kitchen and breakfast area is light and airy, with fabulous views. The snug is a stylish contemporary room, with L-shaped sofas, bags of cushions and a log-burner in an inglenook.
As you move through the house you’ll find two lovely farmhouse rooms: the dining room and the lounge, with a fantastic modern log-burner. There’s also a further living room with TV, perfect for children and teenagers to hang out in.
At the back of the house is the huge conservatory, full of hanging plants, a fantastic place for both a big lunch or a quiet moment.
Looking for a dream kitchen? Relax, you’ve found it. The ultra-stylish Alitalia kitchen is decked out in the pinks and greys of Cotswold stone. There’s a built in fridge and larder, built in Sonos sound system, Gaggenau appliances and even a Teppanyaki plate complete with a hidden extractor fan.
Adjoining the kitchen is a breakfast area for ten guests, with huge floor to ceiling sliding windows looking out over the Cotswolds.
Deeper in the house is the formal dining room, with farmhouse beams and a plenty of room for you all to dine together. And at the back of the house is a large plant filled conservatory where fourteen guests can get together round a glass-topped well.
Outside there is a teak dining table and chairs that seats 10-12 guests and a gas barbecue perfect for lazy Sundays.
