Where everything comes together

Handley Manor has six receptions, seven fridges and dining for 30, but it offers so much more than numbers. This Derbyshire home invites you to share evenings by the log fires, croquet on the lawn and al-fresco cooking. Handley Manor is where everything comes together.

Much more than numbers

Any country home with six reception rooms, seven fridges and a dining table for 30 is probably going to impress. But at Handley Manor in delightful Derbyshire, life is about so much more than numbers. Because this is a home with a soul.

Décor is tasteful but homely. Freestanding baths await piping-hot water; four-poster beds promise deep, deep sleep; the kitchen is the heart of the home and the stage on which you’ll weave your culinary magic. Or just leave it to our chef and waive the washing-up, too.

This is a place to come together in shared activity, or inactivity. Sit by the roaring log fire and just chew the fat. Or cook alfresco on the stone barbecue; play croquet on the lawn and take a Pimms on the lake terrace. Handley Manor is nothing if not very English.

There’s entertainment in every baronial, picture-railed room here. There’s the bar lounge for convivial drinks, the sun lounge for the Sunday papers, the conservatory for evening drinks, the art room for the kids and a games annex for more good times.

Gardens and Grounds

Privacy and tranquility can be enjoyed by the whole family with croquet on the lawn, Pimms on the lake terrace and heaps of activities for the kids.

Let the children run free in the two acres of gardens and woodlands surrounding Handley Manor. There are plenty of walks for Mum and Dad to enjoy as well.

Fire up the barbie and soak up the views with al fresco dining. The stone built barbecue is a great place for the family to gather and enjoy spending some much needed time together.
